Tried that several times yesterday.

 

The use case is:

  • You purchased a new printer to replace an old printer and want to use the old printer's email address with the new printer on the same HP Connected account.

Here is my HP Connected account with the new printer (the old one was already deleted)

Hello. My printer freezes on the connecting screen (wait icon) whenever I print from my phone and after I approve the screen with a 60s timer. My printer and phone are on the same Wi-Fi network that is available in my dorm. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

To use printbot, you have to upload photos or documents from your device to your Facebook message with printbot.  You do this the same way you would in any other conversation: select the "Add Files" button from Messenger (looks like a photo with a sheet of paper behind it), and select the photos or documents you want to print, then select upload!  After that the printbot will walk you through getting it the way you want it, and print them out!  

 

 

HP Instant Ink PIN Expired

I found an expired Ink Cartridge in the loft today - but on attemtping to load the PIN code for the £24 Instant Ink Credit ito my account it has told me it has expired!! Surely it cant expire? I paid good money for this! Could HP reactivate the code for me please? TIA

I am having same problem and can't seem to figure this out. Frustrating! I have an HP D110.

 

Can someone please instruct on how to feed Cricut printable adhesive sheets into printer?  What setting to change and how please?

I am enrolled with the 50 pages / per month Instant Ink.  If I printed only 10 pages last month (August), on September I would get 40 rolled over pages in September,  is that correct?  If I print 35 pages in September,  how many rolled over pages pages

I replaced my black ink cartridge with an HP brand cartridge and have been having problems with shadowing of text every time I print words (not color images).   I have tried everything I can think of and nothing is working.   I've tried shutting down, and restarting.   I have taken the cartridges out and re-inserted them, did a new alignment.   None of this has helped.   How can I get this problem resolved?   Any ideas?

I understand you are in need of support,

I'll be glad to help you out, however, for an accurate solution I will need more details:

 

Have you attempted any steps on your own before posting on the HP Forums?

When was the last time it worked without these issues? 

Which operating system are you using?

Does copy work's fine?

Does it happens with any particular software, or it happens all the time?

 

In the meantime, I recommend you delete the driver and root level and retry, follow the steps below: 

  

These steps hold's good for windows operating system. :)

 

1)In Windows, search for and open Programs and features 

2) Select your HP Printer 

3) Select Uninstall 

4) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers 

5) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’ 

6) Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo. 

7) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”) 

8) Click on the “Drivers” tab 

9) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom 

10) Select Ok 

11) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows 

12) Close Devices and Printers 

  

Once done, follow this link, select the right operating system, and install the full feature driver software. :)

My HP active stylus J4R 51AA won't pair with my HP Envy 360 model 15-aq267cl. When I search for a new bluetooth device, nothing shows up.  Do I need to do something to the pen to make the HP envy recognize the stylus?  I tried pressing on the screen the same time to activate it and holding down both sides of the buttons, but neither worked.  Could you please tell me what I can do to pair these items? Thank you!

Thank you for posting on HP Support Forums. It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts, and other support personnel. I see from your post that you are having issues printing from your HP DeskJet printer. Don't worry I'll be glad to assist you.

 

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

Have you recently made any changes on the printer before the issue started?

When was the last time the printer was working fine?

 

In the meantime, let's try these steps here: 

 

Perform a Hard reset on the printer and make sure that the printer is connected directly to the wall outlet and not to the surge protector.

 

With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

Remove USB cable, if present.

Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.

Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord and then plug back the power cord to the printer.

Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.

 

If you are facing any issue while using the printer then try using HP Print and Scan Doctor (PSDR). PSDR is an automated tool which can diagnose and resolve printing and scanning problems. Please go to this link: HP Printers - Using HP Print and Scan Doctor (Windows)  to download and run HP PSDR. Once you open the program, select your printer and click on “Fix Printing” to automatically diagnose and fix the issue.

 

This definitely looks like an issue with the software/driver conflict. In this scenario, I would suggest here is to do a clean install of the printer software first and check.

If the issue persists, let's try to uninstall the printer drivers and then install it using Windows built-in drivers.

  • Press “Windows key” + “r” to get the “Run” window.
  • Type "services.msc" to get Services – Go to “Print spooler” – Right-click and “Stop” the service.
  • Now again open "Run" - Type “spool” and ok - Go to PRINTERS folder - delete everything in that folder.
  • Go to services again - Start the print spooler.
  • Now check for issue resolution.
  • If the issue persists, also try clean installing the printer drivers. Here are the steps:
  • First, unplug the USB cable from the printer if present.
  • Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP DeskJet printer entries and uninstall them.
  • Now go to Control panel – Devices and printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
  • Press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" (There is a space between .exe & /) and press enter.
  • Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
  • Again, go to the Run window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Please click here to download and install the software.
  • Connect the USB cable if prompted and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

If the issue persists, I would suggest here is to Uninstall the printer drivers and then try installing the Windows built-in drivers for the printer.

Simply turn on the printer and connect the USB cable from the printer to the PC. The drivers will be installed in 2-3 minutes. Go to Control panel - Devices and printers to check the printer entry and make it as default printer if needed.

Your HP Instant Ink Account page displays all your account information in one place.

*Home: The “Status" section shows if your printer is online or offline and gives details on pages printed, rollover pages and additional pages for the current billing period. “My Ink” will show you if the cartridges are delivered or Installed.

*My Account: My Account will give you the details of your plan, Billing information, Shipping information and Account Settings. If you wish to make any changes you can do it in this session.

*Notification: If you have any issues with your printer or account, check the Notification. This will help you understand the issue.

*Print History: Click Printing History and this shows you the number of pages you print each day. You will also be able to see if you have used Plan pages, rollover pages and additional pages. Billing Cycle will give you printing history for the past months. Use the drop-down to navigate.

This is the section where you can download your monthly Invoices.

*Account History: Click Account History to see all the Billing and Shipping Activity attached to your account. 

*Help Center: Click Help Center to get FAQ's, videos, Help with Troubleshooting, order recycling envelopes, cancel enrollment or contact HP for help.

I have gone through your Post and would like to help

 

Are you able to make Photocopies?

 

Let's start by restarting the Router, Chromebook and perform a printer reset

 

(1) Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
(2) Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
(3) With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
(4) Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
(5) Wait at least 60 seconds.
(6) Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
 NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.
(7) Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
(8) Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.


The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.
Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed
 

If you have a Windows PC or Mac, try updating the Firmware from this Link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-envy-5530-e-all-in-one-printer-series/5304881/model/5304882

 

If the issue persists, assign a manual IP Address and check if that helps

 

1) Obtain the IP address of the printer – You can touch the “wireless” icon on the printer control panel to obtain the IP address or print a Network Configuration Page
2) Type the IP address on your web browser to obtain the printer EWS page on your computer.
3) Go to "Network" tab - General - Select "Network protocols" - Select "Enable IPv4 only" (or similar) - Apply the settings.
4) Go to the “Network” tab – Click on “Wireless (802.11) – Then click on “Network address (IPv4)
5) Click Manual IP
6) If you see a Suggest a Manual IP Address button, click Manual IP address, and the Manual IP addresses are automatically filled out for you.
7) If your page does not have a button to suggest a manual IP address, type the IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway using the numbers shown in the report you printed.

iOS app issues for moble printing

I had been using the old iOS app for printing and never had any issues with it over the network. Recently the old app was discontinued and we are now supposed to us the HPSmart print app. And now we are having a couple of issues.

Printer shows in the wifi setup in preferences but sometimes when you are trying to print a document it doesn’t see the printer any more. What I have found that seems to work is to go to wifi in preferences and select the printer and wait a few seconds then I get below the printer a warning about no network so then I reconnect to my network and then if I print it will see the printer. With the old app this never happened just with the new HPSmart app. Old app was deleted because you did something to it so all it does is try to open the new app.

 

The second issue I am having is when scanning a document. Normally even if it shows the device it will still keep saying I can’t scan. I found that what I had to do was reset my iPad and then it would see the printer and let me scan. Sometimes if I am scanning a lot, ie right now I have been scanning a lot of old photos, I will be able to scan a number of photos then it will stop working and again only way I have found to get it to work is the reset the iPad again.

 

As I said I never had issues with the old iOS app, only the new HPSmart app
